NavWiz Performance and Safety In the AMR
Modern AMRs must be able to operate while maintaining full awareness of their surroundings. This requires
advanced control systems capable of regulating speed, detecting obstacles, and responding to potential
hazards in real time.
One example is the NavWiz system , used in our products. It combines speed management with obstacle
detection to create a layered safety approach:
1. NavWiz Obstacle Sensing System
This system uses obstacle detection capabilities to anticipate and respond to potential hazards immediately.
Upon detecting obstacles within predefined “Speed Reduction” regions,NavWiz automatically reduces the
AMR’s movement speed to a safe level. If an obstacle is detected within the “Safety Stop Region,” NavWiz
initiates an immediate stop, preventing collisions and ensuring operator safety.
2. Safety Controller System
Working independently from the NavWiz system , the Safety Controller acts as a secondary safeguard. It
continuously monitors the AMR’s environment and speed. If the AMR does not slow down appropriately in
response to obstacles, the Safety Controller enforces a stop by cutting motor power, providing an added layer of
assurance against potential risks.
